USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78)

(Originally written in Greek)
When the aircraft carrier dropped anchor offshore, my heart tightened. Six thousand horny sailors and marines, dying to get ashore, to get laid. The women of the island would be working overtime — me included.
What choice did we poor souls have? Once the war broke out, hard times hit the island. How could it be otherwise? All we ever knew was pouring drinks, cooking moussaka and stuffed vegetables — that's what the island lived on, tourism. Now, forget it, everything's gone to hell.
Prostitution's illegal, sure, but thank God the police — with the silent blessing of almost the entire town council — look the other way whenever the Yankees come ashore. Even the clergy keep their mouths shut. But what do you expect? There's good money in it!
Besides, they're our friends. It takes two to tango, after all…
